YAL is a not-for-profit organisation that, since 1905 recognises the importance of supporting young Australians. From scholarships and financial support to mentorship and social connection, YAL aims to create a supportive environment for young Australians to grow and reach their full potential.

YAL is the oldest youth organisation in Western Australia.

We believe in supporting disadvantaged young Australians on their educational journeys in whatever form of education suits them. As a result, we developed a bespoke scholarship program that offers more than just a scholarship.

YAL’s programs have awarded $811,000 across all our programs to keep young Australians engaged in education.

Bringing YAL’s purpose to Cairns

YAL Cairns has been around since 1948, but there’s a lot more to know about it apart from its unique history. What we do at YAL Cairns makes you appreciate the ‘small’ moments in life.
